Zanolli argenterie has created this precious reproduction of the ancient Fiorino in 925‰ silver. The florin was a coin minted in Florence for the first time in 1252. The name derives from the lily ("Flos" in Latin) shown on the obverse of the coin which represents the heraldic symbol of the Municipality of Florence; on the reverse, however, San Giovanni, patron saint of the city, is represented. It is an ancient Florentine tradition to give a Fiorino as a symbol of good omen and happiness, with the wish: "one Fiorino today, for a thousand tomorrow".
